quotes and translations
There were lots of things written in German all over the artbooks and postcards I had, so I plugged 'em into the Lycos translator and was happy to discover what they meant! The translations aren't perfect, though, so if you have a better idea what it means or how to phrase it in English, then by all means, tell me at Chereth@shadow-phoenix.net! Any of the corrections on this page so far were made by Ylva-san- domo arigato!

(In the Sakura Anime subs, I think they use "Hunters of the Light, hunt the beasts of darkness!") - Wenn nuch ihre Hände mit Blut befleckt sind, sind ihre glänzend weiß.

("nuch" is "auch" misspelled.)

Dies ist eine Geschichte von vier schönen und wehmütigen Männern. AYA, OMI, KEN, YOJI... Dies sind ihre Spitzuamen. Die Mannschaft heißt Weiß. Sie treiben tagsüber ein Blumengeschäft, das besonderes von den jungen Frauen gern besucht wird. Sie sind wohlgestaltet, heiter und gutmütig. Ihre Stimmen und Worte haben die Reize, die das Herz der jungen Frauen erreichen. Wenn sie aber einmal von der Organisation mit einer Mission betraut werden, verwandeln sie sich in die Attentäter. Profis der Finsternis sind sie, die die niedersträchtigen und schlauen Verbrecher, die von den japanischen Gesetz nie verurteilt werden können, mit Gewalt hinrichten. "Ihr, weiß Jäger, jaget den schwarzen Tieren den Morgen ab!" Sie sind mehr als die Attentäter. Jäger sind sie, die ihre Leben für das einsetzen. Woran sie glauben, und die dabei nie belehnt werden. This is a history of four beautiful and melancholy men. AYA, OMI, KEN, YOJI... These are their nicknames. The team is called "Weiß" (white). During the day, they carry on a flower shop, which is gladly visited, especially by the young women. They are usually cheerful and good-natured. Their voices and words are attractive, which win the hearts of the young women. However, if they are entrusted by the organization with a mission, they transform into assassins. They are professionals of the darkness, who by force execute the smart and despicable criminals that can be never be condemned by Japanese law. "You, white hunters, hunt for the black animals the morning off!" They are more than the assassins. They are hunters, that dedicate their lives to this. That they believe, and which are never belehnt thereby. This evening again someone will be forced to the unwanted death. As long as the Devil exists, to whom the mourning of the victims are fed until it is thick (fat?), one will entrust the new mission to Weiß. Four shadows cut through the darkness... Even if their hands are stained with blood, their hearts are shining white. |
I made a lot of changes once I had a better idea what some of these words meant... I think I have the gist of it all, I just re-worded it to sound better in English. I still think one line from the original translation is interesting... "Professionals of the darkness are it, those the down-pregnant and smart criminals..." I was like, "alright...." ^_^ Oh yeah, I left some terms untranslated if they're the same as names in the series- Weiß (Weiss, it means "white"), Schreient, Kritiker, etc.
